Who-I-am

Who-I-am is Sixty Nine years young who is just building his first ever website and having a ball doing it. They say you cannot teach an old dog new tricks, well I am sure trying to learning some new tricks.

My name is Frederick Andrew, I am the old dude on the right, and my son is the other guy. I have been playing with computers since the IBM 1401 with Auto-coder. For you young people, that was back in 1960. I say playing with because I refuse to take computers too seriously; they are objects. If you do then you may end-up take some kind of prescription medicine.

For the last 8 months, I have been surfing the Internet looking for good Computer Security Software. It has been a very interesting adventure looking at about 200 websites a day.

Being of Scottish decent and cheap, I was looking for good Computer Security Software and either FREE or CHEAP, but good.

A bit more on my back ground in computers. I joined the Navy and went to the Navy’s Electronic Tech School. Then to what then was called Data Systems School in Mare Island Naval Shipyard. I went through the A School (beginners) then to C School for Display. At the end of that schooling I was almost able to walk n chew bubble gum at the same time (TOTALLY DANGEROUS).

From there I was assigned to the USS Horne DLG30. Then on to a fun filled adventure off the coast of Vietnam. There are many funny stories I could tell about that time. To me the funniest was on our first time steaming around the radar-reflecting buoy, about 12 miles off the coast. We had no insulation in the ceiling of what was called Combat, so whenever the cold air hit the heated skin of the ship it rained, all over the equipment and operators, we covered them with plastic sheeting.

After that I went to Senior Systems Technician at Mare Island again. Then I went to a school on ECM and ECCM equipment at Dam Neck Va.

In my last job I taught adults how to build computers and install software. I also taught CCNA Courses.

So that is Who-I-am

SMALL UPDATE: I have had my website for just a little over a year. I can almost walk and chew bubble gum at the same time. It has been a fun filled year. I have learned so much, even tho I have to read everything at least 3 times!!!!
